Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced disruption to water supplies, per reports from city officials.
At the same time, a minor was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.
Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.
"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.
Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.
Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.
A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.
Multiple people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.
Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes overnight. A minor died and several individuals were injured.
The attacks succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.
The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.
Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.
Officials stated energy workers and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
